The Cats missed their first three 3 pointers against Illinois and their last three against OSU. In between, they went 21-31, almost 68%, over a stretch of about 65 minutes.

I don’t know which makes me happier: the fact that NU was consistently able to get great looks from beyond the arc or the fact that they converted at a rate that comes close to a decent free throw percentage. In the last two games, the Cats’ effective FG percentage has been video gamelike.

having effectively four guys in the starting lineup (and two more in the bench rotation) who can hit threes consistently makes the offense so dangerous. Berry has been shooting so much better than last year, but even when he’s off there’s a bunch of other options better than Audige, Beran, and Roper.

Boo used to get his shots blocked inside way more, but that’s because NU didn’t have great outside shooters so he was going into traffic. Now he’ll blow past the one guy trying to stop him.

Wednesday is going to be very very tough, but it’s not impossible.
