NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP?

The amazing thing about the success is that the two veterans, Hana Lee and Kaitlin Park, have not been very consistent this year as they were in past seasons. If they get their respective games together for the tournament, and the youngster keep playing at this high level, then it could happen. Go Cats!

This is exactly right. The key to college golf is depth. The men have consistently had All Americans over the last 10-20 years who have gone on to be successful on various tours. The problem is that outside of the top 2 or 3 guys we've struggled and that kills you in these events. The women are scoring right down to the lowest spot on the roster. So while the guys may have someone finish in the top 5 at an event, they are too often counting a score in the upper 70s whereas the women may have the worst score counted as a 73 or 74, even though they don't have a player medaling in the event.
