Northwestern is going toe-to-toe with Big Ten foes for three-star Chicagoland LB Carson Cooney.

Northwestern is getting straight to work on their Class of 2025, inviting Oswego (Ill.) linebacker Carson Cooney to a bowl practice and extending him an offer last weekend.

Offers from Iowa, Wisc, Illinois, MSU. There must be something there. Sounds like he really likes what the NU program has to offer though. After the bowl Braun needs to resolve who’s at DC, and if that’s McGarigle then who’s at LB coach.

Look for transfers to arrive in the Spring…during the second portal window. Admissions office is very restrictive in admitting transfers for Q2. The quarters system is a major detriment to us working the portal.

Why is that? Why couldn’t a kid transfer in Winter quarter? Has to be spring quarter?
