NU LANDS QB TRANSFER RYAN HILINSKI

Awesome news! Welcome Ryan! Is he able to enroll for spring quarter and practice with the team or will he have to wait until summer sessions? If he has to wait I wonder if he can do online learning for his SC coursework and reside in Evanston?

    Ryan Hilinski

That tweet was from 2018 in response to the question regarding Urban Meyer's thoughts. Unfortunately, I think the 5 star decommitment from South Carolina will cause them to pressure Ryan into removing himself from the transfer portal and staying there. I really wanted him out of high school...

    Maryland vs Minnesota

Maryland is up 14-0 on Minnesota. That win may turn out to be a solid win. Division is certainly open for the taking.

    Impressive Hire! Welcome Coach Jake

Not sure, those numbers came directly from Wikipedia. I was not aware that Eldon Wonderlic was a student at Northwestern University when created the test. Go Cats!

    Impressive Hire! Welcome Coach Jake

It seems that more of the elite TEs and Olineman meet our academic requirements more than other position groups. For some evidence, below are the wonder lake scores by position group... Offensive tackle – 26 Center – 25 Quarterback – 24 Guard – 23 Tight end – 22 Safety – 19 Linebacker – 19...

    Impressive Hire! Welcome Coach Jake

He was the QB coach not offensive coordinator which is why I went with the passing numbers rather than total offense.

    Impressive Hire! Welcome Coach Jake

My initial reaction to the hire was lukewarm but the more I read about Coach Jake and his success over the last few years the more excited I am. In 2016, Tampa Bay's offense ranked 16th in the NFL averaging 245 ypg In 2017, Tampa Bay's offense ranked 4th in the NFL averaging 273 ypg In 2018...

    Feel bad for the players

Thanks for putting this together. I do agree with you that we have had some players who can play offense and defense that either chose or were encouraged to play on the defensive side of the ball and they have had better players. Godwin and Matt Harris could have been talented WRs and Tyler...

    Feel bad for the players

Corbi, I respect your opinions on this forum but disagree on McCall being a great OC. I am not one to routinely call for the firing of coaches and the last coach I wanted fired was Greg Colby but I would like for McCall to be replaced. Limited experience at QB in this day and age falls on the...

    Feel bad for the players

I feel bad for our players. I actually think we have a good squad and perhaps our best defense in over a decade. Unfortunately, our offensive play calling does not put players in position to make plays. We have had several injuries but so has almost every other program in the country. Fitz will...

    Hunter Johnson QB Battle

I hope Fitz is playing coy and that Hunter Johnson has already been internally named as the starter but I am more concerned after watching the BTN preview today that he continues to play his cards close to the vest internally as well. This hope is not based on Hunter's laurels out of high school...

    2019 Offensive Depth Chart

I think Bryce Kirtz is the real deal and expect him to finish amongst the top 5 WRs in catches this season. Even if he didn't already have good camaraderie with HJ, I still would have him getting significant PT this season. WR is a position where young players can contribute early and, based on...

    Great day for Illini Basketball

As bad as the team is now and the Illini basketball team is at a fairly low point. They managed to get a huge commit today. The Illini landed a Top 40 prospect in 6-10 290lb Center Kofi Cockburn. It amazes me that the NCAA reportedly grants a player (Mark Smith) a hardship waiver for the way...

Why do scholarship athletes have to sit out a year after transferring...

I think the biggest issue isn't whether or not athletes have to sit out a year- its that there is no consistency regarding who can play immediately and who has to sit out. I don't think it's fair that many athletes can lawyer up and gain immediate eligibility while players who follow the rules...
