(Listed in the order that they annoy me...)
Have we ever seen a case where a starting QB and a starting LB shared a number (in a post-two ways world)? It just seems strange to me to have the guys who, at least for two more years (I imagine Walker will have a Butkus award and a top 15 draft status after next season), figure to be the most visible players in the program, sharing a number. (Did walker switch? I think he was #15 last year?)
Does it matter? No, not really. But it seems odd to have two starters share, doesn't it?
Backup RB/starting DE and pass rush specialist/backup QB are both annoying, too, but less so.
I assume it's to make the jersey-for-sale option easier. We'll see #18 and #21 next year, and the #18s get a better deal (two faves for the price of one!)
I am very excited that I've spent my time on the board today bitching about jersey numbers and Rutgers-MD meh-ness and backup QBs handing odd in a blowout. It's good to be king.
