The Browns tendered Blake Hance today, so it looks like he will continue to be a Brown. Congrats to a guy named Blake!

Report is that Hance should receive a salary of $825,000 assuming he stays a Brown.
Tendering at that level would not impede a competing contract offer unless he is an exclusive right free agent (ERFA).

For a guy who's a frequent starter? Surprisingly low.... should say I don't pay attention to NFL salaries, but I have noticed a lot of veteran non starters at other interior positions (LB, DT) seem to get well over 1 mill. Maybe OL is different, or he's not enough of a veteran yet.
He was an undrafted free agent who is probably an exclusive right free agent within the window of his rookie contract. The salary is baked in given by the collective bargaining agreement unless the club chooses to reward him for outplaying the contract. Never happens.

So he's basically a Brown. If salary cap and camp cuts present the Browns with an opportunity to upgrade, they could still jettison Hance into free agency. But the odds of that are probably less likely.
PFF gave Blake a 56.7 grade for 2021. That's far from great. But he's backup, has some positional flexibility, and the Browns seem to like him.

I used the term ‘we’. I’ve had quite a few threads get nuked as well. If we bomb out of the men’s BTT, I’ll probably take a long break from the board as NU sports just ain’t fun right now. And the lack of an ability to talk about other stuff makes these boards dreary.
