A take on the Wildcat 2015 Class

That's a pretty cogent analysis, and offers more depth than anything we have seen thus far. I continue to be impressed by the athleticism of our classes. It confounds me that Otterman was not more highly touted. I amazed at how well he moves for a 285lb kid, which obviously speaks to his lacrosse background (a D1-caliber lineman who plays LAX? WTF?). And I think Bell's acumen as a wrestler should translate well.

I would have loved Perry in this class for his top end speed, but I almost think Nagel is an upgrade. Nice to read the comments on Reese and Williams too.

I continue to be geeked by Goens and his senior tape. Thompson too. And I love the LB signees for their size and agility.

Moten had an insanely productive senior season and could prove an enormous steal for the Cats after the departure of Justin Jackson.

Really? Jackson's been here one year, and they're already talking about him leaving?

More of he's going to be the feature guy, less of what you are thinking.

"Thompson is a project at DT, seeing as he's a bit light on his 6-3 frame, but he reminds us of a prep Chance Carter at this stage. A bit upright at times, which will need to be corrected, but he uses his hands well and knows the inside game well."

I don't think there is much similarity between Jordan Thompson and Chance Carter (based on their High School tapes) nor do I think Thompson is a project. Thompson is the most impressive DT recruit we've landed in a long time, but I hope McEvilly and Kuhar's good health allows him to redshirt.

A good write-up though.

I think fessler is WR recruit in this class with the most potential.

corbi,

Hope you're right. Charlie is a great kid, and he's my neighbor! He was All State in Pa. and was chosen for the Pa. Big 33 game, which some may remember was dominated by a guy named Dan Persa a few years ago.

He's no doubt stronger, with a much better anchor, but in terms of frame and needed growth, as well as the roles they played coming into NU, we saw similarities. I think Thompson is a far better prospect. Not clones, but again, saw some things.

I for one have always had very high hopes for Kuhar, and then Lancaster. Still hoping for the former, latter has some time.

Thompson's quicker, more instinctive, uses his hands better and has an impressive motor as well. Chance was pretty raw in high school. The two definitely look alike in stature and needed to get bigger at the same stage though.

Thompson looks bigger than 247 pounds in his senior tape, so I wonder if that is a stale number.

Thompson explodes into blockers and sheds. He plays much larger than his weight because of his quickness and ability to bow up against larger OL. His tape is awesome! The guy was Ohio Defensive POY. He will be an effective DT for us at 270 much like Mitch King was. That's how explosive he is. Alabama offered.

Kuhar was progressing very well until he got injured. He was beginning to deliver on his promise and high rating. I hope Lancaster can stay healthy. My understanding is the guy is a bull in the weightroom.
