Interesting exercise - pulling together a starting 22 plus 3 specialists from NIU, NU and U of I. I count 10 NIU, 9 NU and 6 U of I, which sounds about right. I might find a place for Lowry and get at least another NU secondary player in there, but I can't say I know enough about the NIU or U of I kids to debate it.

Interesting exercise, but I find it hard to take seriously a list that prefers Desroy Maxwell (part-time FB/TE for NIU) over Dan Vitale or Perez Ford (6-0 227 and 5 sacks playing in the MAC) over Dean Lowry. Shoot, I find it hard to take seriously a list that prefers VanHoose over Harris.

Sensitive much? My point is that I think Harris is the better of our two corners and doesn't get much recognition, not that VanHoose isn't any good. I would put our corner tandem in the top handful of the conference, to say nothing of the state.

Probably doesn't help that he's out with a torn ACL, returning in October at the absolute earliest.

And I think Dan Feeney mught actually be his favorite player.

I think it's more a statement on Harris than Van Hoose. Van Hoose is a stud, but Harris is McManus special.
