You mean those 14 pass attempts last year? Can't argue with their prediction. The more experienced QB wins.

Just like in the Stanford game, right NJCat.Can't argue with their prediction. The more experienced QB wins.

Need to rid yourself of that Debby Downer Syndrome.

The offense hasn't been high flying, but we've shown over two games an ability to run it down people's throat including during the fourth quarter when the opposing teams were gearing up to stop the run since they knew we weren't throwing it anymore. We are struggling to finish drives in the red zone, but I'm willing to bet that will improve each week as Clayton feels more comfortable making plays. His touchdown run last week against EIU was Zak Kustokesque and shows he might be a real weapon in the red zone.Hey, I'd love to see NU win. But the offense hasn't really gotten off track yet. Thorson will be playing his 3rd game, against a guy with 2 more year of college practice experience and who played in 12 games last season. So objectively I see Duke winning at home. If that makes me Debbie Downer so be it. Check back Saturday evening when I get home from the game.

Are you going to the game CoralDude? I am.Agree 100% on Thor in the red zone...felt like he forced that pass to Vitale vs. Stanford. Looked like he had a great chance to run it in if he had kept it.
I don't see him as Kustok-esque or Persa-esque. From limited viewing, he seems to have more downhill speed but may not have the lateral quickness either of them had. That may be why we are seeing more straight option and qb draws and not quite as much zone read. If he gets open in space with room in front, he is not going to get caught by a lineman or an average college linebacker and will outrun many safeties. His touchdown run last week against EIU was Zak Kustokesque and shows he might be a real weapon in the red zone.

I agree and almost wrote that but refused to write "Kafka-esque"Agreed. He is much more Kafka-esque![]()
I don't mean overall. I just meant that one run. It featured the scramble and cut back and the twisting and turning to get into the endzone. Reminded me of Zak Kustok touchdown runs. Regardless of athletic ability, Kustok just had that winning quality to him. He found a way to make things happen. That is the Kustok-esqueness (how's that for a word) I want to see in Clayton.I don't see him as Kustok-esque or Persa-esque. With his height, he also has the potential to have a stronger pocket presence as he gets more experience in choosing his passing lanes over the line.
Zak and Dan were two of the best zone-read option quarterbacks ever but CT may have a higher upside giving the OC more options with his tools and talents.
If he develops into a Kustok or a Persa in those terms, then we will truly have something special. If he does it this year, then we have him at that level for four years. Could be the foundation for a golden era.I don't mean overall. I just meant that one run. It featured the scramble and cut back and the twisting and turning to get into the endzone.
