Rivera tweaked his ankle at Midlands on decDecem 30th. So did Yayha Thomas. Hopefully he will be back soon. Looks like Rivera's main competition for a national title,DeSanto from Iowa,tore his knee out on Friday. Rivera has an excellent shot at a title. We have three solid guys redshirting, including Colin Valdiviez at 33! We wrestled tough tonight. We can easily finish top ten in the nation as our upper weights 57-97 are all wrestling well.
Seems like we have a shot of qualifying for NCAAs in 7 weights, everywhere except 41, 84, and heavyweight. I think that would be (tie?) a school record. Two legit national champion contenders. Should be fun. ...... Although these last 2 BT losses have been painful, knowing that we win either with Rivera healthy.
Also our 25lber lost both matches when he was favored! DeAuginstino is a brawler! Our 49 liber Thomas was hurt against Michigan. Jensen at 84 just beat the 13th rated wrestler in the nation from Michigan. He can make ncaas.
Agreed! Tough kid! I hope Moreland is ok! If not, we have a solid and capable backup,Troy Fisher, who can qualify also
Morland out really sucks. I doubt they pull Fisher's shirt. I bet we see the kid Ankhaa again.
We will have a tough go vs Ohio State, but I'm really interested in 125 149 165 and 184
