Let hypothesize that Fitzgerald told the administration or the athletic director that he was leaving some of the disciplinary "punishment" in the hands of a council of players.
The administration says "okay sounds like a good idea..." or maybe they say "hmm, if you think that helps"
Does that make any difference - implicit (or explicit) approval of Fitzgerald's approach.
Or, put differently, if Morty knew that was how Fitzgerald wanted to run the program, but didn't know what was happening, doesn't that constitute a willingness to accept the possible outcomes?
