Call me sacrilegious but I think Walker is faster to the ball than Fitz ever was! Kid breaks on the ball better than anyone I have seen lately, including the Ohio State kid,Katzenmoyer! Walker by a nose! What say you boys?

Fits and Katzenmoyer were big hitters, but so is Walker! Not that Walker hits any harder than those boys, but he is no slouch! My favorite all time hitter for the Cats is Traveon Henry! You can hear his hits in the tenth row!

Walker has a long long way to go before he can even be considered in the same ballpark as Fitz ended up.

If walker gets first team all bigten that would b something but poy is waaaay down the road if ever.

That said ive seen few underclassmen LB that are in walkers class. Spielman comes to mind. I didnt follow the cats back then but i dont think fitz was recognized as a soph.

At this point, AWalk is much better as Fitz is too old to play.

Seriously, AWalk has not earned the accolades that Fitz did. Also, the two played in very different eras of offensive schemes. AWalk has speed that Fitz never had nor really needed as a college Mike. Fitz excelled in run support and the occasional blitz, but did not have the drop skills for Cover 2. AWalk might have the skills to do these things at the NFL level.

It s a different time and system. I remember reading an article about Fitz's D that indicated that Fitz was a very sure tackler. As the middle line backer, he called plays that funneled plays toward him so he combined his fine tackling skills with his fine defensive mind. AWalk has more physical ability but has not yet developed the play calling and it is a different system that may not allow that.

Somewhat surprisingly (to me), wrasslers OP isn't totally crazy. I agree that after game 1 of his sophomore season AW isn't close to what PF accomplished. However, he might just have a higher ceiling!

They are different kinds of players because of different eras. Is Walker faster than Fitz was? Absolutely but Fitz was never vied as that fast. Offenses have changed and it takes a different kind of athlete to play the position. That said Fitz was great for his era. So far Walker looks good but let's wait before we anoint him king.

Well put

Anthony Walker is a much better athlete than Fitz ever was, and I'm sure Fitz would be the first to agree with that. Walker will play on Sunday and Fitz wasn't athletic enough to make an NFL roster. However, Fitz is a two-time National Defensive Player of the Year and had the fight seldom ever seen. So, yeah, athletically AW is better, but I can't see him accomplishing (in college) what Fitz did.

Well maybe if he takes us to the NCG
