Are Big Cats pulling for the B10 @ the final 4?

In order of preference

1. Loyola
2. Michigan
3. Villanova

That said, the one fun thing about Kansas doing well is that whenever Bill Self does well, the Illini fans in my family are forced to ponder what could have been had he stayed in Champaign. They talk about losing Bill Self like a jilted boyfriend whose ex-girlfriend is now married to a richer, more successful guy. Their tears of unfathomable sadness are delicious.

I'm pulling for the Big Ten if it's a Michigan-Kansas final.
But that's 3rd and 4th for me.
Villanova/Loyola first (known the Wrights for years, but Loyola would be like a real life Hoosiers movie, so I'm going to put them tied)
Then Michigan.

From what I saw of Kansas State this year, it wouldn't have been a bad idea for the Illini to keep Weber. He certainly is better than what has followed so far. Weber inherited that good team for the first year after Self, but had trouble getting that quality of recruits during his tenure. As far as a game day coach, Weber is pretty good — better than some of the big-name guys I've seen out there.

Hope Villanova waxes Michigan.

Why all the Michigan hate? It's not like Harbaugh is coaching hoops. I get why people don't like the football team.

But, hoops? C'mon these guys are worth rooting for. Solid university. Maybe the best in the B1G, next to us of course. They're kind of the next in line, though admittedly the gap is wide, they are kind of the closest we have to an Academic peer that we have in this conference, until Notre Dame joins, maybe even then they'd still arguably retain that title. We'd also be the last team to beat them in hoops, so there's kind of that.

I don't know, I've always had a soft spot for Michigan. You know the enemy of my enemy is my friend thing I guess.

Nope can’t do it. Not about the players, it’s about their fans.

Beilein is fantastic. Best coach in the Big Ten.
Still pulling for Villanova though.

I could NEVER root for Michigan. The school not the state.
Why on earth would any NU fan not root for Michigan? Their coach is a great guy and an excellent coach. If Michigan wins, the BIG will have won both the NCAA and NIT tournaments, in a year when we only got 4 teams in the Dance. Go Blue!

Well, at least NU (B1G) beat LaSalle (B1G 5).
That's fair. At least it should be competitive. I just think it is great that perennially this little league is in the national basketball picture--refreshing compared to the basketball factories.

Aside from the Cinderella story, would have liked to have seen UM complete the deal b/c like Beilein and would like to see the end to the narrative that the B1G can't complete the deal.

Since 2000 (the last time a B1G school has won the NCAAs), a B1G school has played in the Finals 7 times and lost.

(Btw, Sister Jean has a connection to NU - while at Mundelein, she took classes at the NU School of Education.)

So 8 out of 18 tourneys, a big ten team has made the championship game? That’s not the worst record ever. It would be nice to win a few more.
