Yes I know he fumbled, but so has Thorson, so let's get him in the game! Speed kills and if our passing game is going to be problematic then let's adapt and overcome. Throw the ball short to Roberts, Vault, Jackson and Anderson. Fast and talented runners who can make people miss and potentially take it to the house every time they get the ball in their hands.

Why would we mess with the run game the way Jackson, Vault, and Long have it going?

It is great to have Anderson on the team but I don't think we have a shortage of speed with Vault. The trio of JJ, Vault, and Long is going to be tough to crack into.

Because I'm considering him more as a receiver to use on short passing plays. I would also say that from the way he played against EIU, he is pretty much what we have been told he was going to be which is DYNAMITE.

Can he catch the long ball better than Schuler?

Exactly. Let's get him on the field. He's a playmaker.

Plus, I don't want him to get pissed off and transfer.

Imo we cant give pt to a player because of not wanting to piss him off. The coaches love him but he is only a redshirt freshman. He is still learning assignments. He is a rb, not a receiver so there isnt any place for him.

Without a deep threat, our rushing offense will struggle. Im not as comfortable with our rush offense as you are. I think jacksons carries are way too high and that he has potential for rubber legs at the end of the year if he keeps touching the ball 35 yimes a game. If Anderson can help lessen the load to where jackson only sees 25 touches a game then why not?

I agree on Jackson's work load, but there are two other backs who have established themselves. Going to be hard to displace either Long or Vault.

Agree. Anderson just gotta keep working hard and taking advantage of any opportunities. In the meantime, he has been a helluva gunner along with watkins getting downfield covering punt returns.
His rb opportunities may not come until we need fresh legs later in the year or some unfortunate injury. Either way, cant argue with Long or Vault getting carries. Vault just needs one crease and he is gone.

Because the team would be better served with Vault playing slot. Get him on the field for more. He's averaging 6 carries and 25 yards a game. That's not good enough for one of our best playmakers. Maybe he's better at RB but this is like having Chris Brown and Damien Anderson. Jackson is going to be the RB a la Damien Anderson. So have the other guy play WR and get him playing rather than standing on the sideline.

He's also getting his touches in the return game, where his impact has already been obvious.

And I agree that Vault should be seeing more time in the slot, especially given the lack of production we have had there.

I wonder how bad the dickerson btothers are hurt and how our setup will look if G cant go. Its a huge dropoff to schott imo so id think mccall may be forced to consider other spread possibilities with min protection. If so then id think there would b more of a lean on Vault. It was nice that theygot him in some one on one situatios last week with his number called but he has to b on the same page as thorson next time. Not sure which player was at fault with Thorsons int but easily correctable.

Both of these comments were pretty uncalled for. Apparently, you both missed the awesome third down catch against Stanford.
Maybe uncalled for but 1 out of 3 isnt good so they have valid points. Shuler does struggle with over the shoulder catches. That said, im not sure if vault is the downfield answer either. Our wide outs need an upgrade as vitale appears to be our only real threat downfield. And he is a goodie.

Unless Cam D is back. He will get downfield. Needs to hold the ball

Cam is back playing. He got a lot of snaps Saturday, including one in the end zone that was almost intercepted. It may take a little time for CT to develop timing with him.

Luckily, we have depth at RB! We need AA and he looks ready
