Is he that much of a difference maker? He was everywhere vs Nebraska. And I can't help but think his run support stops more of those long runs earlier.

Azema is credited with 2 tackles today... guessing Fitz sat him for the first half.
Announcers certainly never said a word.

I’m guessing we don’t see him again until Ped State. We need him healthy in our B1G games to have a shot.

i saw him in a tee shirt in the first half, but can't make sense of the box score...

Participation reports and real-time defensive stats are awful. Guessing someone who doesn’t really know what they’re doing saw either 3 or 8 bunched up and thought it was a 0.

Azema didn’t play a single snap.

Does anybody know who got most of the snaps at LB?
Obviously Gallagher and Mueller were out there playing hard, but, the third LB was somewhat MIA when it came to tackling...

unless, of course, the stats people missed all of his tackles...

Metz didn’t play much, mostly Heard in the nickel/slot.

Duke is in 3 and 4 wide personnel so often that you have no choice but to be in Nickel

You guys are right about Duke putting us in the nickel, but my fear is that we only have 2 functioning Big Ten linebackers...

Metz is 215. Heard (at nickel) goes 195, according to ESPN.

That seems small defensively against anybody with a power running game.

(Its a good thing we picked up Taishan Holmes.)
