Minnesota is the only upset (seedwise) today, and both Maryland and Purdue are in tight ones, with Wisconsin facing Virginia Tech later tonight. Could NU be Big Ten's only victory today?

I'd like to see the Big Ten do well, at least in the first round, to give the world at least some inkling that the conference is good. Minnesota was good this year, but they were shorthanded and playing against a very good #12. No shame in losing to MTSU.

Well, the Big Ten rallied a bit. Wisconsin won a dogfight with Va. Tech, and Purdue eventually swatted away Vermont. Maryland and Minnesota were still the best seeds to lose all day. It wasn't a good day, but it wasn't a disaster either.

Michigan in a close game against Oklahoma State. Wolverines are shooting 55% (16 for 29) behind the 3-point line.

And yet still in a close battle with 3 minutes left.
Oklahoma State is big, and that gives Michigan trouble. Outrebounded 40-21, including 16-6 on the offensive glass. Wolverines shot lights out, including hitting some clutch free throws at the end, which put them over the top.

Anyone notice that Michigan hasn't lost since that classic game with us on March 1? Besides Duke, they may be the hottest team in college basketball.

Well.. the BIG is now up to 4-2 in the tourney.

They'll need to have good first games as the lower seedings this year have made the road to the Sweet 16 a lot tougher. NU against Gonzaga and Michigan probably against Louisville in the second round are two examples.
