Styre, as always, thanks for posting this every week...Question for you. The schedule this year is pretty bizarre with the Big Ten tourney being a week earlier and the playing of two conference games in early December. But the days of weeks of games this year are very different as well. Seems to be more Monday/Friday night games throughout the conference, which we barely saw in the past. For example, our next four games are on Tuesday, 1/23, Monday, 1/29, Thursday, 2/1, and then Tuesday, 2/6. So we don't play any games on a Saturday/Sunday for two straight weekends. I can't remember that ever happening in the past.

Are some of the oddities with the days games are being played on related to the schedule being thrown off due to the conference tourney being a week earlier or is that more a product of TV deals and likely to be more of the norm in future years too?

@Jonny2TheP I'm sure Styre has a better answer, but it looks like M and F games are part of a FS1 package. I don't like it, but I'm an old crank.

Ten years ago, everyone played W and Saturday, except for one CBS game on Sunday and an espn game on Tuesday. (It probably wasn't that hard-and-fast, but it was close.)

Definitely all related to the new TV deals. Our schedule is definitely different than usual, but the Badgers have 10 conference games in a row on non-weekend days, starting from their 2nd game this year (Mon, Tue, Fri, Tue, Tue, Fri, Tue, Fri, Mon, Thu), which has to be a real pain in the ass for them and their fans.

The Monday and Friday games are likely due to the new TV deals, as we've seen a lot of FS1 games played on those days. So I'd expect that to continue. NU's schedule in particular is probably even stranger than usual given that they play in a building that also houses the Chicago Wolves and a ton of concerts and events.

It's all about the student athletes and fans though.
