On one hand, I am disappointed for them. But on the other, this has to mean that it is a no brainer to come back (especially with NIL money on the table), right?

I know we thought there was an NIL package being put together but do we know anything about it?

This Twitter account that has a pretty good track record with college hoops scoops says he’s “hearing there’s some good news coming next week for Northwestern fans.”

Unless it’s some sort of unexpected portal add I imagine this is likely Boo and/or Chase returning.

Boo has his and Audige has his and a spare
AOF how do you know this?
Buie is a senior - presumably he has to take his finals and pass them?
Audige graduated last June - there were pictures of him in cap and gown. Not sure what academic program he enrolled in for this past basketball season, but NU usually goes into June academically.

The way I see it Buie and Audige will come back and always knew that was the likely outcome:

1) The exercise on exploring options was one that many kids are doing. And it makes sense. You get some blunt feedback to go back and work on your game. That was always the most likely scenario that was going to play out with Boo and Chase. Just that. Talk of NBA or some other non-sense was only credible to a few posters around here. These two dudes made me extremely happy last year, but they were far from NBA prospects, via draft or summer league.

2) Of course you also develop contacts, place yourself under the radar of agencies placing players abroad. You go through it and come out knowing your options. In Chase and Boo's case they probably came out knowing that NIL money is, as of now, significantly higher than overseas money. To beat NIL money you'd have to be a bona fide college ball start, or show stat lines of like 18+ ppg. Which might not translate to much, but attracts teams overseas to players like flies to shit.

3) They never entered the portal, they never explored that option. This suggests, to me, they knew the likely outcome was coming back to NU. NIL at NU might not beat NIL at many other schools, but it's likely Chase and Boo specific NIL money is better at NU than other schools.

4) Entering the portal would have given them more info on the NIL money elsewhere. But it would probably have resulted in the door closing at NU, as Collins would not be holding spots for them.

My butt, where I'm pulling this prediction from, says they both return.

Your butt is, at a minimum, 50% correct. Always trust your butt.

In my simple mind, one way to improve their game is to play 1x1 against each other all summer and take mostly 3 pt shots.

Silly idea, but imagine if they were each "one shot better" per game.

Believe I read that he is in this program:
Northwestern’s Master of Science in Project Management (MPM) program is designed to prepare qualified professionals for project management roles in the diverse cross section of organizations that facilitate the design, construction, and operations of projects in the public and private market sectors of the built environment.
