Three-star safety Ty Hudkins is Northwestern's second commit of the day
Three-star safety Ty Hudkins committed to Northwestern over Minnesota and Purdue on Monday.
Would really love to see Ty go to work recruiting his HS teammate, 2025 LB Max Richardson. Really good looking prospect who pulled the trigger real early and committed to Stanford. No NU offer yet but I am pretty sure we will offer. Hopefully Ty can get him to reconsider.![]()

Easy. Same reason we have landed other prospects from the Midwest over Stanford. Closer to home and playing in the Big Ten where your friends and family can watch you play on TV every week. Having a HS teammate at NU shouldn’t hurt. Of course, NU having a good season on the field this year would also be really helpful. That’s a weird situation. He didn’t have a ton of early offers, went to Stanford to earn a camp offer and committed shortly thereafter. Absent us having an extremely good on-field result this year, I don’t see why the kid would ever flip on Stanford.
Huh, I live in the Grand Rapids area and haven’t heard much about these guys from Forest Hills Central. I’ll have to pay closer attention this fall. Our last QB recruit from the GR area was Jason Whitaker, who obviously didn’t work out.Would really love to see Ty go to work recruiting his HS teammate, 2025 LB Max Richardson. Let us know what you think. Love Grand Rapids. Stay at the JW and have a nice steak at The Chop House whenever I am in town on business.Huh, I live in the Grand Rapids area and haven’t heard much about these guys from Forest Hills Central.
