BREAKING: Travis Whillock retiring from football

Makes complete sense given his situation: the surgeries + already finished his ugrad degree and Masters this summer + spent the whole time away from campus/team in Texas doing school online. And of course Joseph.

Wish him well in his future endeavors.

Great player. Seven tackles in the 2018 Big Ten Championship plus a forced fumble and recovery in that unforgettable third quarter. Seven tackles (including a sack) in the Holiday Bowl. 15 (!!!) tackles against Minnesota that year. He was absolutely instrumental in getting NU to the top of the Big Ten West at last.

Wish him all the best.

He is a true Wildcat:
1) Skilled but underrecruited player
2) Worked hard and developed himself with help of our coaches
3) Became a productive player on the field
4) By all indications a great teammate and one who valued the brotherhood of NU football
5) Saw the big picture and has a vision for life after football, and now pursuing it.

Thanks for that reminder summary, He sure helped to insure that Holiday Bowl win and glad to have been able to see him there.

Here is to a great future.

I remember how excited people were about the Katy three (the third being Collin Wilder, now at Wisconsin). The two we got lived up to the hype and then some.
