What do you mean by "us"? If you mean the Big Ten, I gotta think Illinois is hoping he gets axed. Could also be next at Iowa. Ferentz isn't that old though being only 60. Just seems older because he's been at Iowa for ever.

Iowa has had three coaches, since 1974. I am not aware the position is open for him.
Why not? He seems like the perfect fit. He employs a strong running game with great lineman and tough defense. That's Iowa football.

It will be interesting to see if he continues to embarrass himself at Arkansas. At the end of last year, I would have thought that he would be at the top of Illinois or Iowa's list (assuming Iowa is even thinking about a list). This year, not so much. He is losing to some good teams but he is still losing. And his utterly dislikable personality gives him very little leeway with fans and boosters.
He wanted to find out what it would be like outside of Alvarez' shadow and now he knows. I think he needed Alvarez more than Alvarez needed him.
Kirk Ferentz and his wife represent the University very well. Very much involved in the University's children's hospital.

He'd be a good one, for sure. The guy can coach! It won't happen, I don't think but Iowa could do a lot worse. He still has the TigerHawk tattoo on his ankle.
THe Wisky folks didn't like that. He's a lot more dramatic than even the New Kirk. He has a tough nut to crack in the SEC West.
he was pretty strong in the B10, if you care to remember....the guy can motivate and coach.
I gather you have to win more than three Big Ten championships in a row to be considered a "strong" coach in Virginia.
I have to admit, though, that this fake confrontation to get a penalty is the most childish thing I have ever seen out of a football coach. I can't imagine the SEC is going to let this go without some sort of comment or reprimand.
I was intrigued with the Kingsbury incident. Although the only person going ape in public was Kingsbury, everyone seemed to side with him against Bielema.
Actually, the SEC commissioner reviewed it and elected to take no action. Bizarre.
Jeeebus Keeeerist glade...you're talking the SEC. Maybe a comment but really.....The SEC is no paragon of virtue or decorum.
