I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised, but all three of the so-called "experts" predict a Michigag victory on Saturday. (Pat Forde, Stanley Jackson, and some guy named Wannstedt whom Bears fans might remember.)

In related news, all three are still predicting a shocking comeback victory by Stanford on Sept. 5. Yes they are THAT clueless!!!

Can't BTN just hire Gary Barnett to bring some SENSE to their forecasts??? SHEESH.

GO 'CATS!!!

Fine, fine . . . perfectly happy to lay in the weeds. If Michigan is just slightly looking past us to MSU, even subconsciously, all that can do is help. Let 'em ALL pick Michigan; plenty of crow to go around.

Yes and Wanny is already on record as picking Iowa to win the West. No shock that pretty much all the pundits predict us to lose. Funny thing is in the media this week our players seem to view Michigan the same way they typically view NU. Just the next opponent and not an insurmountable object. This could go either way, but our guys expect victory once again.

Herbstreit also said no way we win in big house unless we get a lot of breaks!!! He also said we wouldn't beat Minnesota last week!

But didn't he correctly predict NU against Stanford?

Anyway, the "logical" choice is Michigan. Should be a good game. What matters isn't the prediction, it is the result. Go Cats.

Yes sir .... Go cats!!!! Looking toward to finally getting the two seniors on the line playing together and the same side!!! Gonna be a slobberknocker Saturday!!!!

Okay, that is a very encouraging hint from someone in the know. Hope Geoff can play.

So the gurus are "doofus prognosticators" when they pick against NU, but it's a sure sign of doom when they pick for NU?

This fanbase never ceases to amaze me.

The persecution complex is really unbelievable. If a media member says something positive, he's a vicious liar; if a media member says something negative, it's further proof of the grand anti-NU conspiracy of hatred.

9 point dogs, take The Cats. When the talking heads pick the opposition, it's a nice omen. I love how this week is shaping up. We need two things Corso to pick Michigan and NU to play another game like they did against Minnesota.

Corso actually was the only one to pick us last week on gameday! These guys and media are on harbaugh' nuts! It's funny after first week and not knowing how good Utah was I remember reading this is the same old Michigan and we have to give harbaugh time!

Agreed. It's all sticks and stones. People need to get over it.

If you are asked to pick between two very similar teams with similar performances to date, wouldn't you just go with the home team--the safer pick?

Lack of respect mean a bigger chip on the shoulder. Generally, that's a good thing.

Your team is playing the best football in the Big Ten right now. The Cats probably have the two best non conference wins. I like your chances a lot.

The way I look at it is: If the most ardent NU fans -- presumably the people on this Board -- can't vocally support our own team, how can we expect others to have confidence in us? What sort of message does it send to our Team -- the group of student-athletes who take the field to represent Northwestern University! Also, a "fan" means FANATIC -- it's not short for "rational" or "dispassionate." It's times like these when I am the MOST proud to say I am a NORTHWESTERN WILDCATS FAN!! It also reminds me an awful lot of 1995, which I don't mind a bit. :) GO 'CATS!!!!

They all picked for us last week. That gave me the heebie-jeebies. I am much more comfortable with them all picking against us. No complaints from me. Also, the story they want to write is that Michigan is back. That story does not play with a loss at home to NU.

NU as Cinderella has been done. When we are good, it is not that much of a story any more. And it does not generate that many viewers like it did in 95. BTN wants the Harbaugh return to glory story. It plays better to more viewers.

That is tough noogies since NU is going to win.

From all the prognosticators on ESPN, SI and USA Today - only 1 picked the 'Cats.

No. The logical choice is us. We are better than them across the board and particularly at QB. Their QB blows and will be exposed for the disgraced bad Iowa benchwarmer that he is tomorrow. At the same time, CT is going to SHRED the UM defense. UM may be the NOSTALGIC choice, but they certainly are not the logical choice. Just like ND was last year. Same situation; different fraud of a program.
