By design, inexperience or fatigue?

I'm sure bryant is exhausted (an issue that has been covered ad nauseum already), but it seems like our "motion" offense seems a bit stagnant. Players down on the box with limited movement and players on the wings waiting for a pass while completely covered defensively. This seemed especially true when compared to the Indiana offensive sets where there are constant curls and movement by both the wings and players in the paint.

Do you think that this lack of movement is by design to get spot-up shooters on the arc, or is it inexperience by our young players, or simply fatigue due to the limited bench and rough B1G campaign?!?

Its a joy to see Max and Pardon work a 2 man game, but very frustrating to see the offense breakdown into a 1 on 1 with no movement or screens off ball to get open...

How about by playing against shitty competition in the non-conference and not being good enough when it gets to B1G play?

It wouldn't matter who NU played in the non-conference. They just don't have enough Big 10 caliber players. You could play North Carolina 13 times in the non-conference and NU is still a bottom quarter of the Big 10 team. Just not enough talent yet. Maybe in 2 or 3 years Collins can compete, but apparently not this season.

It is now up to CC to find a solution to the problems. I didn't think we could play man against athletic teams but the match up zone looks even more porous.

The offense lacks motion and relies on BMc and Demps too much. No easy solutions in my opinion

In CC's first year there was a new commitment to man "D" in the second half of the season, maybe he can produce a similar turn around

Actually, the kernel of the adjustment was pretty clear today assuming Olah continues to convalesce. Indiana didn't double on Alex, and he was scoring on a very high percentage of touches. Against most conference teams (Purdue excepted) a game with entry passes to the post and either score or kick outs is the strongest option the Cats have, I was actually very encouraged by Alex's mobility in the minutes he played. If teams double him, the 3 pointer returns, and if they don't, a post play scoring advantage gives the Cats a chance.

This is not an NCAA tournament team, but based on what I saw today, I think another 4 to 6 conference wins (tournament inclusive) and a possible NIT bid are definitely in reach.

You go realize that BMac had a beyond terrible game today, on offense and defense, correct? It really had nothing to do with scheme, he just didn't show up today at all. It a shame, since, with Tre and Olah playing so well, it might not have been such a blowout....
