BC will be taking Holy Cross to The College Hall of Fame Tournament in Belfast ,Northern Ireland Dec 1-2.. Carmody's family most likely hailed from the Republic of Ireland but Northern Ireland will have to do

Visiting Shankill and Falls Road will let you experience memories of "The Troubles". A visit to the "Game of Thrones" set is also interesting. The Giant's causeway is less than an hour away for geology buffs

Can you give me a Paul Stevens update from U Chicago. Any chance we get a Beth Combs update as well? Continuing to post BC stuff on here is just trolling. He's long gone....thankfully.

Stevens is at UChicago? Ha! I had no idea. How did I miss that tidbit? Wish I would have known last Spring. Thanks for sharing.

Had no idea Stevens was at U of C either... John Fitzgerald, U of C's head coach, is without question the most miserable human being I've ever encountered in my entire life.

That's a strong take.

He was my head coach in college. He admitted time and time again that he hated coaching. Couldn't get through a practice without saying it. Said he didn't like kids, complained non-stop about how he should have never gone into education, etc.

I really am not embellishing when I say he's the most miserable human I've ever met. Not one person I played with enjoyed his company. He sucked the life out of people.

I was pitching at Oglethorpe my sophomore year and I gave up a game tying home run when we were up 2 in the 9th and I previously struck out the first two hitters of the inning. Clean up hitter went oppo off me on a change up (my best pitch) and when I got to the dugout he got in my face and screamed "WTF were you throwing a changeup for when you blew the first two hitters of the inning away!!!" and accidentally spit dip spit all over my face. No apology, no "my bad", no nothing. It took every ounce of will power I had not to swing at him

He also bitched non stop about his marital struggles. I promise you, the worst person I've ever been around in sports

Are you sure is the same guy? I don't know what Oglethorpe is (google says it's a university in GA), but his profile doesn't seem to mention any Oglethorpe, one way or another.
EDIT: Oh, maybe you were playing against Oglethorpe?

Why did you throw a change up to the #4 stick ?

After two fastballs, it usually makes power hitters look ridiculous on the strikeout. And as he said, it was his best pitch.

It's not like throwing a pass on the one-yard line with the Super Bowl on the line and a killer running back in the backfield.
