It's crazy that the B1G doesn't have any teams in the top 10 going into B1G play. You can usually count on the B1G to wind up with a number 1 and perhaps a number 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament. With Wisconsin, Purdue and Indiana at only 14, 15 and 16 in both the AP Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll, it's tough to imagine that anyone from the B1G can climb to a 1 or 2 seed (unless one team suddenly dominates everyone in league play).
It's a mixed blessing for the 'Cats. On one hand, we will have more chances than ever to get wins in a weaker league--and we need wins! On the other hand, the weaker B1G won't have as positive an effect on our SOS, RPI and other rankings that a stronger B1G would. And if we wind up on the Bubble, we will have to deal with committee perceptions of a down year in the B1G.
