(the authors (article states "by Staff") of this article specifically) besides themselves and trying to convince the college football fan community who can (and do) actually read that what they're alluding-to holds anything resembling the truth.

This authors give a 15-name run-down on the CFB coaches and programs they feel "who do more with less" (by "less" I am assuming is meant "less than optimal football players and facilities").

There are the usual suspects - Jerry Kill/Minnie; Fitz/NU; Steve Addazio/Boston College; Dave Cutcliffe/Duke and Kyle Wittingham/Utah. But then, the authors go out on a limb in mentioning perennial "Have programs" like Pinkel/Mizzou; Peterson/Washington; Mullen Miss State and Snyder/Kansas State; followed by the "What Are You Smoking" La-La Land group listing "Uber-facility & Bottom-less Funded programs" like Riley/Nebraska (#12); Franklin/State Penn (#8); D'Antonio/Mich State (#3) and Patterson/TCU (#2).

Who do these jack-hole authors think they are kidding? I've been to and taken facilities tours of State Penn, Nebbie, Mich State and even TCU. These Uber-programs are funded by boosters with the deepest of pockets and fan bases who demand nothing less than top drawer "for our boys" (read: superior training table, academic assistance, student housing, etc). The locker rooms and weight rooms alone of these program look like Taj Mahals of football. (Hell, State Penn and Notre Dame have HOCKEY STADIUMS which have more/better amenities than 50% of the NHL franchises.)

I don't know what I'm trying to say except... the article just burnt my morning biscuit when I read it on this cold, blustery Saturday morning and then realized, in comparison, that NU won't be dedicating their planned sports facility until at least year 2020 or beyond; and by then, even that so-called "state-of-the-art" facility will have been passed-up once more with the facilities arms-race that is the "current standard" within the "Have programs" or "Uber-programs".

I guess my point is: What is fueling NU's delay in building the much needed and much advertised Lakefill Sports Complex, besides not wanting to dip the funding finger into the University's $1 billion-plus endowment funds per year kit-bag... even if only as a "borrowed funds" thing to kick-start its build? Even those self-absorbed, starched-shirt power brokers in the Northwestern Administration offices have admitted in 1995 and beyond that sports does more than virtually any other mechanism to bring public attention and prestige to a University.

And then there are asinine articles like this that state that State Penn, Nebbie and Mich State are "doing more with less." Lord Have Mercy!!!

Just to be clear, they're talking about coaches, not programs. They said Franklin did "more with less" at Vandy and Riley did so at Oregon State. They're not saying Nebraska and PSU have less.

Then use correct the header... Like "Franklin at Vandy" and "Riley at Oregon State". To say that Franklin at State Penn is somebody who "does more with less" is more than misleading, it's incorrect.
