Chappy's 2020 NU Season Preview: Running backs

Nice work as usual, Chappy.

It will be interesting to see what Jake does with this group. It was decimated by injuries last year. Hopefully Bowser and Brown can stay healthy. Drake Anderson is the closest thing we have to a home run threat, and it now looks like he is physically ready for power school competition.

Thanks, Chappy.

We really don't have a good idea of how good these players are mostly because of predictable play-calling last season. That will be a huge change for the team. (The OL should fare better, too, when the opponents don't know what to expect, and they will have had another year under Coach Anderson.) JJTBC set a high standard that has yet to be approached by any of his successors, and, man, does NU miss him. Drake seems to have the highest ceiling.

Could never understand why our passes to RBs never went anywhere. There have been players that might have flourished running those plays, like Moten.

Those isolation passes out into the flats don't work well when you have no credible downfield passing threat and the opponents crowd the line. I think 9 in the box was probably a pretty common sight when we were on offense last year.
