Collins close to being a lock for COY!
Lock for the B1G. The question will be if he gets it for the whole country.Collins close to being a lock for COY!
Watching Fran Mccafferey’s post game conference and he just said “Collins is the coach of the year in the Big 10.” WOW. What a turnaroundCollins close to being a lock for COY!
He’s mentioned him several times in different interviews. He knows how much that addition to the staff meant and he hasn’t been shy giving him credit.Don't watch all his press conferences. Not trying to be negative. Does he ever mention Lowery?
Lowery for assistant COY? (I assume there must be such a thing?)He’s mentioned him several times in different interviews. He knows how much that addition to the staff meant and he hasn’t been shy giving him credit.

Hats of to Mccafferey as he showed Cats respect in the post game. Not what you saw from Painter and WoodsonWatching Fran Mccafferey’s post game conference and he just said “Collins is the coach of the year in the Big 10.” WOW. What a turnaround
Mostley foccuses on what the players have done. In the last couple of postgames, nothing really on the coaches (especially not himself) I am fine with that approach.Don't watch all his press conferences. Not trying to be negative. Does he ever mention Lowery?

Kudos to Battle and McIntosh as well. Can’t overlook their contributions as they have certainly been a positive influence on Boo and others. Also keeping BJ in an analyst role also enhanced our staff. CCC made all the right staff moves.
Painter should not as what Purdue has done was expected going into the season. But NU was picked 13/14 and has far exceeded anything that was expected. The only coach that is even close would likely be Hoiberg as he has led the team to a pretty remarkable turnaround over the last couple weeks, especially considering all the injuries. But probably too little too lateDon't see how Painter gets the nod over CC and am hard pressed to come up w/ anyone who has a clearly better resume than what CC will have.
CC will be getting at least a 3 yr extension, and while that likely includes a nice raise, if I were CC, I'd ask for more $$ for the coaching staff.
The changes CC made to the staff has made all the difference (hopefully, it'll also work out for Fitz) and want to keep this group intact and around for as long as possible.
It's expensive to raise a family in and around the Northshore (a lot more than in podunk college towns); the assistants usually aren't lucky to live 5-8 minutes away like CC and Fitz.
Actually, what Purdue has done was not expected. They were unranked coming into the season and remained unranked for a couple of weeks. They won the Phil Knight Classic, Thanksgiving weekend, soundly defeating West Virginia, Gonzaga, and Duke over the course of four days. They also defeated Marquette a week earlier. It raised a few eyebrows. Going from unranked to number 1 for 7 weeks thus far is no mean feat in my book. Two very good coaches on the verge of having great years!Painter should not as what Purdue has done was expected going into the season. Locked 🔒 up for CCIt would be a well deserved honor. They still need to finish strong.
Conference postseason play is not included in conference season records. So if my quick Google research is correct, even if we lost out we would have the highest conference win% since 1945-46. I’m not sure if B1G tournament games are calculated into conf record? If so and depending on the next couple regular season games it could be the highest conf win% in 90 years. That should be strong consideration for national COY.

🎨er has a really good squad, as expected.
But the 🐱😈 are the 📕 of the year.
Purdue was not picked to win the conference, they were picked between 5th-7th depending on the outlet. If Collins gets a share of the reg season title I think he's a lock, otherwise it'll be a pretty close race. Painter's relied on getting 2 freshmen starters up to speed while NW has a lot of experience on their team. You can make a case for either. Hoiberg isn't in the convo, it's down to Collins & Painter.Painter should not as what Purdue has done was expected going into the season. I wonder to what extent B Mac being on the sidelines has helped Buie reach his mental potential. With the greatest player in Northwestern basketball history, our warrior, plays every minute, clutch, game-finishing, tourney-leading PG on the sidelines, Boo Buie has smoothed the edges off his game, taking a huge mental step, and turned into... a warrior, plays every minute, clutch, game-finish, tourney-leading PG.Kudos to Battle and McIntosh as well. Boo talked about it in the press conference that both BMac and his brother watch film with him and help him see things on the court he misses. I'm sure this has been a huge help!I wonder to what extent B Mac being on the sidelines has helped Buie reach his mental potential. Maybe it's just the natural course of things... but maybe there's a connection here.
True, his brother also obviously a similar player and likely a big impact.Boo talked about it in the press conference that both BMac and his brother watch film with him and help him see things on the court he misses. I'm sure this has been a huge help!
They also play with the team in practice and that can’t hurt.Boo talked about it in the press conference that both BMac and his brother watch film with him and help him see things on the court he misses. I'm sure this has been a huge help!
Didn't know that, but makes sense. They also play with the team in practice and that can’t hurt.
CCC played in practice at Duke. It’s an extremely common occurrence for former players that are assistant coaches to participate in practices.Didn't know that, but makes sense.
Lololololol good to see youCollins is only exceeding expectations that he himself set with terrible coaching the last six years. Give me a break he’s not winning CoY. It’s Painter no question.

Like, if you’re gonna yolo in with that troll job it isn’t PAINTER you go with of all people!Terrible trolling attempt. Pathetic really
