Actually quite a lot of respect, better than I expected based on where we left off last year. I assume we had zero votes in both preseason polls. Voters must have more respect for Stanford than their #21 ranking. We might actually crack the rankings if we get our next 2 wins.

We will not be a top 25 team after this weeks game regardless of the score. Duke will prove to be the game that gets us into the top 25 if we win. That game bothers me too. We will see so truly good our defense is after that game.

Maybe, maybe not. Apparently because of the matches there will be at least two top 25 teams losing and if they fall out below us it would only take one other team to find disfavor in order to move us up to #25 in at least one of the two polls. If I recall correctly this is exactly what happened to us the last time we moved into the Top 25 when we had been in the "others receiving votes" category.
