Their demeanor in the two post-NU-loss pressers was vastly different. Miles, while obviously disappointed, was gracious, responsive to questions, and highly complimentary of Collins and NU. Crean, on the other hand...sullen, taciturn, and reluctant to give credit.

Miles is a classy guy, and as someone else pointed out (sorry, can't remember who) it would be great if it works out for him at UNL.

Then there's Crean...

I thought Crean was fine in his postgame. The guy's team has been gutted by injuries in the past week, What did you object to in his comments?

Personally, I think Crean does as much as he can with the tools available in his toolbox. That his No. 1 hammer (Blackmon) and No. 1 drill (Anunoby) broke within the last 10 days is not his fault. Indy b-ball fans are just jaded and simply looking for a scapegoat for their current mediocre record; and to me, Crean is in a no-win situation. The Who-Zit fan base expects their b-ball team to contend for the B1G championship every year and that just isn't realistic, especially since your most effective, reliable weapons are MIA. Crean can only game plan (read: teach) his troops before each game; but those athletes who get tasked to take the floor against their competition must execute that plan and plainly aren't doing the needful (read: shooting under 30%). Simply stated, these lesser players look lost without the go-to leadership of the Indy hammer and drill pair. What really hurt Crean was that 30-point drubbing handed to the Who-Zits by a mediocre Michigan team. And now, the Big, Bad Who-Zits go one further in its prime-time loss to Just Northwestern. To all those jaded Indy fans, this situation is unacceptable. For an example of a supportive fan base, look to Moo U. Noone wearing green & white is calling for Izzo's head despite his team's under-performance. Yet disgruntled Who-Zit fans troll this message board to vent their venom regarding how bad a job Crean is doing with what healthy, viable horse flesh remain in his stable. When he was winning regularly over the last several seasons, these same trolls were just ka-vitvching just because they need-to (somewhat similar to the moronic year-in & year-out unsubstantiated expectations of Noted Dames football fans). Hey, what goes around comes around; and the 2017 b-ball campaign just isn't Indy's season to shine. In the end, all I can say is: Eff-'em.

It also looks bad when you lost to Northwestern led by an Indiana kid that you did not offer who comes back to take you apart.

It seemed that after every TO after the first TV TO, the Cats took the Hoosiers to shed for several minutes, or at least held them in check at a time when the Hoosiers needed to get back in it. I think the difference in coaching is evident here.

First Half:
13:20 (TV) - 10-7 IU. Our run had started at 15:10 when it was 10-1. The TO did not help Crean stop the run.
11:54 (TV) -4 to +7: 12-8 IU lead bled into 19-12 Cats lead at IU timeout at 8:07
8:07 (IU) +7 to +8: 19-12 Cats to 23-15 Cats at 6:03
3:06 (TV) +10 to +12: 31-21 Cats to 35-23 at half.

Second Half:
15:11 (TV) +14 to +12: 42-28 Cats went to 44-32 Cats at 13:37, so no real impact on IU deficit
13:37 (NU) +12 to +17: 44-32 Cats lead stretched to 49-32 at 11:32
7:49 (TV) +15 to +14: 53-38 Cats went to 56-42 at 6:00. Both teams missing shots, but impossible for IU to get back into game
3:47 (TV) +13 to +13: 58-45 Cats; 13 point lead never fell below 12 points after this

And once again, Hungry Jack wins thread. Well played!

I watched all of Miles' post game interview and was very impressed. Will be rooting for his success at NEB (when it does not impact NU of course).

Tom Crean gets outcoached all the time. Hes not a scapegoat. He sucks. IU deserves better.
