The biggest thing for me was Collins screaming at his players during the last timeout, "you've got to want it." I'd say that applied to breaking the press and taking a shot in the last five or so minutes. I was pretty shocked that guys were passing up open looks and putting the ball on the floor when they had nowhere to go and no one to pass to. Time to put on your big boy pants lads and take the shot. That does not include BMac who took and hit a tough shot.

On the inbounds the Cats were flashing like the were supposed to but they weren't physical. They weren't fighting equally to get the ball. They were giving up space to defenders. You've got to want it.

Thought Brown was terrific the entire game. He's got no problem with the ball in his hands at critical times. Much better handle than I thought. Best on the team? He will become an end of game option.

Sanjay is terrific. I don't know that I've seen another player who fouls out and has that look on his face of total contentment, "I left absolutely nothing on the floor, your turn now."

Good teams come back in the second half and Dayton is good. Dayton came back in the second half of the second half. The Cats kept it to 20 pt margin up to the ten minute mark. I thought it was more a case of the officials letting the teams play, than poor officiating and missed calls.

NU was bleeding the clock and too many times that meant passing up a shot they would have taken in the first half. When those shots became crucial they started to miss them. And they stopped going to the rim.

I don't see a lot of negative. Collins has all the film he needs to show guys they're not stepping up. No playing with complete focus. He'll find his one or two guys.

I do not get why Tap didn't get more minutes in the second half. He could of interrupted that long stretch of no field goals.

I love Skelly, but in this game and the last game he has passed up WAY too many open looks, turning our offense into 4 on 5 basketball. Even Sanjay shoots more than him of late....

Loved Collins yelling at his players to Want the ball. He is a fighter and an all-time competitor and his team is showing that attitude more and more. Last night was a great step forward even though the end was a little bit of a nail biter. McIntosh huge jumper will give him more confidence in the end game situations. To get 4 points and limited rebounds from our centers and beat a top 25-35 team is promising once Pardon comes back, hopefully. To see the development of the seniors is a great example of Lumpkin and Tap's hard work and the coaches' ability to develop them. Another step forward. Enjoy the ride it is fun to be able to watch every game with the perspective of we can beat anyone left on our schedule. NU gave Butler a tougher game than the supposed No. 1 Big 10 team in IU who still don't play much defense at all and have to play with a coach who has big time detractors in his in-game strategy.
