Glad to see Dayton playing some good ball as that is likely to be our best non-conference win. Since we beat them, they have gone 5-0 with victories over Vanderbilt, at St. Bonaventure and Rhode Island. The win against LaSalle isn't bad either. LaSalle, Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure have all played three games in the A-10, all lost to Dayton, and all won the other two games they played. Would like to see Dayton continue playing good ball and contend in the always competitive A-10. Will only help us down the road.

I guess that means the coach's wife successfully got the refs to stop making bad calls... because apparently that's the only way NU could beat Dayton.

You jinxed them. Lost tonight to UMass. Texas lost at home to TCU. Yikes. And Wake Forest put up a valiant effort but lost to UNC.

One more: Butler getting rolled by Creighton. Not a good night for our OOC opponents.

Wake did OK, against a team that beat their arch-rival by 51 last weekend!

Yep, I put the jinx on for sure. Texas is getting to the point where that's not even considered a good win in any sense. Beyond the name "Texas" on their uniforms, that win really doesn't hold much luster. That's a struggling ball club.

Dayton looked awful tonight; they did not look like the team we played at all. They were missing layup after layup, and although their 3-point shooting percentage wasn't bad, they missed a lot of wide open 3's. Just one of those nights I guess.

Referee bias!!

Worst of all, lots and lots of sloppy turnovers. They were playing as if they thought they'd win based on talent alone, whereas UMass was playing disciplined defense and not giving up anything easy. Dayton, in contrast, was playing undisciplined offense and seemed unwilling to work for the good shot, as if they considered such antics beneath them against lowly UMass. It was some of the most painfully sloppy basketball I've ever watched.

I've kept an eye on Wake this season (I haven't slept on them, so I guess I've stayed a-Wake).

They're a lot better than their 10-7 record indicates. Close OOC losses to 'Nova, Xavier and Northwestern. Yesterday's close loss to UNC. They hung with both Florida State and UVA for most of those games but just couldn't hold on in the end. Another close loss to Clemson. Things will turn around for them at some point this season.

Texas suspended leading scorer Tevin Mack "indefinitely" (which in Durham is 1 game) for unspecified violation of team rules. This is his second suspension of the season. All is not well in Austin.
