This has mentioned plenty of times before but I am still amazed at how well we are doing without Law and Olah. Going into the season, they were considered at least our 3rd and 4th best and most important players. I'd have gone: McIntosh, Demps, Olah, Law. In watching some of these other Big 10 teams, I don't think they'd be doing nearly as well as we have been missing such key players. Unfortunately, we have gotten very used to our best players being out. It seems like we've had at least one starter miss most, if not all, of the season for the past seven or eight years.

Who would you say are our most important players now, without Law and Olah? I would venture the following:

1. Mac
2. Pardon or JVZ (with Olah out)
3. JVZ or Pardon
4. Falzon
5. Demps

Demps is still #2. Kid plays 38+ minutes per game because there is no other option. And I'd put Sanjay ahead of Calzone, he is lock down on defense.

Falzon would eat Sanjay up for that Calzone dinner.

You guys are tempting fate. Stop talking about McIntosh being our #1 guy! Every year our #1 guy goes down.

I dunno. Demps plays them - but there is an argument that he hurts them. Until I see something to compare, Demps is down on my list.

1. Mac
2. Sanjay
3. Who's hot
4. Who's in the middle
5. Who left

If we lose Sanjay (God forbid) we'll miss him but he can be replaced.

By who? His job is defense and rebounding. Who provides these at the 3 if he is gone? Not Tap. Not Scottie. Is NU going to sign a free agent? ;)
He plays more the 4 and Skelly replaces that.

Can't say I have watched that closely on D, but he is often on the floor with Falzone - a 4. He often subs with Tap - both of them should be 3's.

Any reason JvZ cannot man the 4 at times with the return of Olah. Seems like he is quick enough. Except for stretch 4's, you often don't see a lot of production away from the rim from a 4. Seems like JvZ would be perfect. A la the Bulls, pair Olah (who shouldn't be shooting from outside) with Falzone and Pardon (who seems to have had a shot in HS) with JvZ. In order to properly allocate minutes for health, mix in plenty of Pardon and Falzon.
