Cappy has done a good thing deciding to lose a certain amount of rants here.

OTOH, one thing in this screamin' mess that should not be lost, nor ignored, as it has been so far, is that The Inquisition BELIEVES it discovered sexual assault but ignores the perps. What if they'd discovered murder and left it as they had? Would anyone care?

These people should have done what's necessary, taken the trouble to ID the perps and refer them for criminal prosecution. THEN the world would know that these allegations are true or not. By refusing to do the important work here, The Inquisition's will to investigate is also under question. One might even go so far as to call them f'g cowards.

I'll be dipped in #$%^ if I would play for a team that thinks sexual assault is good-natured hazing and I doubt many other athletes would play for one either. There wouldn't be anyone left on the team. That's why the accusation is so hard for many to believe. But if it's true, do the perps first. PROVE IT!!!

The burden of proof for prosecution is far different than the burden of proof for “lots of people were involved in some terrible stuff”.

Wait, are we working under an inquisitorial system or under an adversarial system? Figrating seems to imply that we're working under an inquisitorial system. Inquisitors "actively participate in fact-finding public inquiry by questioning defense lawyers, prosecutors, and witnesses. They could even order certain pieces of evidence to be examined if they find presentation by the defense or prosecution to be inadequate."

If I were an inquisitor, I would consider anonymous allegations to be inadequate and would want to directly question these witnesses.

The participants in the inquiry are anonymous to us, but almost certainly were not anonymous to the investigators.

True, but the burden in public court should be higher than a few anonymous sources. If this did happen, and there was a whiteboard, it should all be clearly outlined in the report. We will see it eventually

These are not anonymous sources. They are known to the investigators.
