All the good recruits and players will leave. This will get really ugly for NU on the field going forward.
I guess you can't get much more ugly then winning one game but this could drag us through that type of experience for several years now.
The Chicken Littles are standing strong.
Northwestern University will be fine, and so will our football program.
Do you really think our current Wildcats will fold so easily? They are Northwestern student athletes. Give them credit - they don’t quit.
Soes not sound like you lived through the Dark Ages. Maybe you should go back and look how much damage was done with a president that wanted to basically destroy the FB program to force us out of BIG coupled by the hiring of his henchman AD Pont. This smells similarly.
I was a freshman on the 2002 team, so thankfully avoided the dark ages entirely. Fitz was the LB coach when I was on the team and is someone who I’ve always admired.
Our AD and President both suck, and I hope they are replaced shortly.
If anything this scandal has revealed how important the program is to our school. Hopefully, amateur hour is over.
There is absolutely no evidence that Schill is hostile to the football program. Someone who was out to destroy NU football would not initially have given Fitz a slap on the wrist and buried the news of the report and suspension in a Friday afternoon dump.
(This does not mean I want him to remain in his position)
I know the Badgers finished 2nd and never gave up trying to flip. UW has a really nice class of commits, but had a hole at DT. Truly sorry for what the NW fans and players are going thru and what’s down the road.
