Do you think Sullivan gets a shot this lost season?

Hilinski seems like a great kid, but I would like to see what a more mobile QB could do in the offense.

Even if Sullivan is a worse passer if he can run it could open things up more for Hull & Porter.

Thoughts?

All of the "good" teams I've seen this year have dual threat quarterbacks. For that matter, so does SIU, who's short QB can both run and throw.

I think Hilinski picked up a first down running the ball against SIU. Maybe the coaches will tell him to start running more in B1G games.

I expect we'll see Sullivan at some point when Hilinski gets dinged up, but not otherwise.

No because the season is not lost in Fitz's mind. How well NU does in the non-con doesn't seem to correlate much to how we do in B10.

Short of some Hunter Johnson/Duke performance, I doubt it.

I learned a sad lesson. Watching last year's team, thinking "we HAVE to have better linebackers/kickers/QBs/etc than the ones who are playing".

I was wrong.

Edit, to be clear, I am not down on Hilinski. I think he is a decent QB, just answering that I believe Sullivan isn't playing because Hilinski is better.

Hilinski is not our problem. Our problem is our defense (bottom 3 defense in Big Ten). We are the #3 passing offense in the Big Ten behind Purdue and Ohio St.

I think they should start playing some of the freshmen on D like Saka and Soares and see what they can do. We are giving up almost 450 yds a game so it can’t get any worse…

Totally agree. Hilinski is a solid qb in a decent system. The defense is putrid, so giving frosh some playing time if the game is out of reach or the starters aren't getting the job done would be a good idea!
