The first one Gates is pretty easy.
Gets elevated to associate head coach for a more prestigious CBB program (a notch down from being a blue-blood) and probably a nice hike in pay.
While it's nice to have some level of stability in the coaching staff, not a good sign when assistant coaches aren't in demand and don't get offered promotions (as HC or other positions).
Wisky FB has had incredible turnover at the DC position and yet that D keeps rolling along; as long as a good system is in place and an able replacement is hired - not so worried about the coaching turnover (aside from Gates now being competition for local recruits).
As for transfers out - happens to pretty much all programs these days.
Brown, as a score first PG and not having improved much on his ball distribution skills, was just a bad fit.
Rap, unfortunately, was hit repeatedly by the injury bug and having a fresh start is probably good for both sides. Was hoping for a Vedran-like post injury-surgery resurgence, but the likelihood of that happening was slim.
Wouldn't say that posters over at Inside NU are turning on CC, but many have become more critical.
Fair criticisms would be having too many recruits/players (since the 2014 class) not being able to provide enough support behind that class.
Every coach will have misses, but can't be at this level (really all needed was suitable replacements for Lumpkin and Tap).
Not pushing the team more (esp. the SR leaders) in order to avoid the complacency.
Some strategic decisions were puzzling - such as playing an uptempo style early in his tenure when the team simply didn't have the depth to play that style and good D or taking too long to switch to zone D this past season when the team clearly didn't have the talent to play man.
Like I had stated, it was a disappointment that the 2014 class only got to the post-season once, but should be but a temporary stumble.
Really excited about the incoming class and how they and the transfers will mesh with the returning players.
