Their Defense seems to have lit a spark with the removal of their DC, what they did to Purdue cannot be overlooked.

They will be playing for bowl eligibility.

We should win this, but we better come out ready to play, or shades of Akron and Rutgers loom.

Minny needs this win to become bowl eligible. They will be fired up.

I think it's good that we're getting them after this beatdown of Purdue.

We should be way better prepared for the best they can offer.

I heard they'll be ditching their oars for an Evinrude.

... hopefully our defense can keep the Gophers shore bound.

After the “Illinois game against NU is their Super Bowl” thread next week, we will have been officially warned not to sleep on every opponent on our schedule.

There will be plenty of time to sleep after the season. Enjoy the ride, folks!

There are way too many worries about Minnesota.

All that happened this weekend was that Minnesota changed some things and simplified their defense (basically went full zone against Purdue) to simplify things for their young players.

That's it. They aren't Alabama or Clemson now after beating down Purdue. The good news is we're getting them with a full game's tape and can prepare for this.

The same exact thing happened with Illinois when they fired their DC and came out and beat Minnesota. You never want to be the first opponent for a new OC/DC because they'll change a bunch of things (typically simplify things for confused younger players) the first week.

We're getting those two teams with some tape; I feel more confident about both matchups as a result.

No doubt Minny will be out to prove NU is not that tough and no doubt NU will play another cliffhanger.
