Any chance anyone could recommend a solid Dublin pub to watch the Northwestern-Stanford tilt this Saturday? I've been googling my arse off to find a spot that offers ESPN / American football but to no avail.

Unfortunate that I scheduled my first trip to Ireland over the college football kickoff, but by golly is this country beautiful. I Highly recommend the Ring of Kerry, Cliffs of Moher, and the many other fine sights to fellow fans of natural beauty.

I also promise to rouse as much Irish luck as I can towards a Wildcat victory - particularly since we made off with all of Notre Dame's (again!) last season.

Sláinte!!

Hey CatMan2006! I was just living outside of Dublin for the last seven months. Am back in the States to sell my house, but moving over permanently next month. I'm not sure what availability you'll find. Mostly (from what I hear) ESPN broadcasts are available, but if it's on at the same time as the Premier League, you'll have trouble getting them to show the game.

However, I found it! http://www.woolshedbaa.com/dublin/whats-on/

The Woolshed on Parnell St. will be showing the game. Go and cheer loudly! Perhaps I can make that my NU game local :) Looks like the game will be on at 5pm local time.

Enjoy Ireland! I definitely agree, it's an incredibly beautiful country.

My Irish fiancé is convinced that our kids will be raised rooting for ND, but I have already convinced him that they will be 'Cats fans. (I also took him to homecoming in Evanston last year and he was in awe of the experience).

Thank you NUMBalum! This is very clutch. My fiancée and I will be there cheering on the Cats. She's not much of a football fan but she cheers for NU & I'll be wearing Purple proudly. Hopefully I can convert a couple of locals as well and will report back on how it goes.

Congratulations as well - but please hold strong on that commitment! Don't let him devolve into a boring ND fan now that you've started off so well.

I just got back from Dublin. Try Fitzsimmons at the end of The Templebar on Fleet Street. I watched NU beat Syracuse there in 2012. The problem may be that the Gaelic Football Championship is at Croke Park-maybe it's next week ?

You can stream ESPN through your cable carrier but not DirecTv. All you need is your email ID and password for your cable company

Thanks doc. It looks like the Gaelic final is on Sunday so hopefully we'll miss the crazy crowd. We'll try Fitzsimmons if the Woolshed doesn't work out.

We tried accessing AMC via my cable subscription but apparently it's blocked in Ireland. It also looks like ESPN is only making subscription services available over here but will try again.

Go CATS! Chop the Tree!
