We know there is talk of another party that night, but our board has gone to an extraordinary effort to welcome all who wear Purple. This is a grass-roots party completely organized and sponsored by the local club to welcome you to Durham.

I hope Kevin Costner shows up. Florida Alum will you join this party ?

Costner no, but possibly some other surprises!

Florida Alum and I have been in contact over the past month and he knows this group is welcome and encouraged to join us for a really fun night. A lot of thoughtful planning went in to creating an event that all constituencies will enjoy.

But would we have to sit with people we don't know and listen to them brag about all the money they make rather than discuss NU football? That was my experience at another NU alumni event. It was just horrible except for the crab cakes and meeting FloridAlum for the first time.

LOL

You can congregate wherever you like. I should specify, this is not a party sponsored or run by Athletics or the Northwestern Alumni Association.

We are a motivated, local club who's probably put in about 100 hours on this event and want to share our hospitality with anyone who is visiting.

asherg,

If my wife and I can attend, we will definitely come to this party, which sounds terrific. We might not know for at least a couple of months though, so do you think we'll be able to get a reservation?

It's possible, but a lot of core groups have not sent out their e-mail notifications yet and are scheduled to do so in the next couple weeks. We almost sold out of the reserved category over the weekend, but opened up some more space today since it was so popular.

The response from our local alums has been overwhelming and heartwarming.

Hope you have a great trip to NC!

That tobacco Road area is freakn awesome. You couldn't have picked a better area/venue.

Just wanted to update we more than doubled the size of reserved seating and still expect to sell it out soon.

There are plenty of general admission tickets available but several core groups haven't advertised it yet. There will be a lot of first-come seating with that option and we expect that will sell out later this summer.

Thanks for everything you are doing.

Wanted to thank the multiple posters who bought tickets in the past day. There are now fewer than 10 reserved seats remaining and we will not be able to expand beyond that. Lots of first-come bar seating and rail seating (including a couple dozen directly ON the outfield wall) are still available.

We also opened up more "total space" and there will be plenty of walking around room.

Reserved seating is now sold out. You can purchase general admission tickets at the link at the top of this thread. We've had purchases from about a dozen states so far.

Special thanks to the board members who e-mailed me before and after purchasing tickets. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

You'll also see 165+ NC alums in our ticket block at the game.... so a lot of purple!

Finally, through these events, we'll have raised thousands in scholarship money for our area students and for the chapter.
