I've always considered loading the box as bringing the safety to linebacker level and running essentially a 4-4 defense. You cannot do that against a spread offense. We will be running at least 3 WR (or splitting out Vitale) on 95% of our plays. 1 DB needs to play each WR so they need to commit 3. If they put 8 in the box, they're playing with no safety. No college coach is going to primarily run an engage 8 into a run blitz package.
So unless you mean that "stack the box" is now 7 men in against a spread team, Duke is not going to do it.
