The virus doesn’t discriminate. It can devastate any age or level of fitness. This fellow’s story, a very fit muscular athlete who was placed on a ventilator in an induced coma to save his life after losing 60lbs of muscle mass is pretty harrowing. I am sharing this article as an example of a fit young guy getting infected because we don’t fully understand yet why some who are younger and fit get slammed hard by this virus and others who are older and would seemingly be more susceptible to complications are asymptomatic or slide by with only minor symptoms. This guy is bouncing back but has to climb at difficult road in recovery after the virus almost knocked him out for the count. We have a lot to learn yet about this virus and how to mitigate its impact on the body. This guy survived but is also still feeling the after effects of going thru the illness. The post-recovery side effects of the virus are still being discovered and is an additional issue dealing with the pandemic.

Only the death rates matter. And it's a bad flu.
