I was out of town so only listened on the radio. But in watching the game, BOY did CT play poorly. To me, that was a HUGE difference in the game that snowballed in a lot of areas. Missing a WIDE OPEN Larkin in the first quarter, the two pics on badly missed throws (maybe the receiver was totally in the wrong place, I dunno), those were plays that could have changed the entire game in a number of ways.
We KNOW this is not an All Big Ten caliber OL. We KNOW our defensive backfield was decimated, I presume requiring us to only rush four to keep more men in coverage. We KNOW Duke stuffed the box, taking away Jackson and daring CT to beat them.
CT didn't. The turnovers and the missing of open receivers were only what I could see. I don't know where else he may have played great or missed even worse. But with all those aspects we KNEW, we also KNEW our strength was a potential All BT QB some think is a first round NFL pick seven months from now.
That was what we were counting on in 2018 that didn't come through Saturday.
