First place

I just thought I would mention that if The Cats win Saturday they will be either tied or in sole possession of First place in the B1G. Nice opportunity.
Might be tough for the Cats to get to Madison.
High winds and lotsa snow in Northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin.
Long bus ride I guess.

I feel like we match up better vs WI than we do vs MSU and ILL. Mostly just based on overall athleticism and guard play. We can see how Hunger defends Wahl (does WI often put Mr Crowly and Wahl out there together?), as Big Matt is probably a liability here. I would think the matchups on Berry, Langborg, Brooks and Martinelli are the areas we might exploit on offense.

Crowl and Wahl are what I call a proper Big Ten frontcourt.
Except that Crowl will wimp out and go shoot 3 pointers.

Maybe this is the game where we get to see Hunger and Matt out there together, kicking ass and taking names.

Crowl gets the refs to call fouls on his opponents by looking like he's about to cry.
Thats the tough matchup. The refs vs our centers.
Physically, Big Matt would have Crowl calling for his mommy otherwise.

But seriously, somebody has to defend Wahl and somebody has to try to defend Storr, who is 6'6" and athletic.

In prior years yes we have had success against Wisconsin. I think this year's team is a bit different, not sure if you've seen them play, but (i) AJ Storr their transfer wing looks like an elite athlete + scorer, and (ii) they have a whole bunch of depth, moreso than normal. I like Boo + all our wings, but I'm not sure the wing players and depth is necessarily an edge for us in this game. It's not a team centered around low post scoring like it has been at times in the past. Storr isn't quite Johnny Davis from a couple years back but he's very good.

It'll be a tough matchup in the Kohl Center, but we've shown we can beat anyone in the conference this year. I'm sure our guys will not back down from the challenge.
