"The Wildcats (2-0) showed no letdown from their big win a week ago against Stanford, posting a shutout and making it two straight games without allowing a touchdown.

Northwestern ran for 344 yards and three touchdowns, with Justin Jackson and Warren Long combining for 150 yards and two scores. Defensively, it held Eastern Illinois to 138 yards and got two interceptions from Matthew Harris, one of which he returned for a TD"

Well, not really surprising given they had us ranked #18 already in their poll last week.

Inverse universe! In the poll that matters the most we are ranked #23 (AP), in Coaches we are #24 and in BR it is #25. Go Figure.

What may be more instructional though is that in points of time each built on the other with our lowest ranking in the first poll out, and our highest in the last. Gotta think at least some voters are influenced by seeing who made the top 25 in the poll preceding theirs, at least in terms of recognizing who is on the radar.
