Weird because he's helping on the field? The JackFitz thing is weird.
I just don’t understand why being a coach is somehow better than being a player. Being an 18-year-old coach seems incredibly isolating. It calls out the idea that he was different from the start, and is even more different now. (Him being a coach made it much more likely to get questions in the media availability.)Weird because he's helping on the field?
I feel bad for the kid. He could've chosen not enroll at NU but it seems it would've been extremely hard to find an academic replacement in such short notice. He obviously grew up with football and it is probably integral in his life. I appreciate him finding an outlet during this trying time for him. He probably also knows some of the team quite well and they are providing some form of comfort.
Because he was a walk-on at the deepest position on the team and his chances of being the field <0? Do you think he would have gone to NU if his Dad wasn't the head coach? Kid had the grades and resume to go to any top university in the county and could have actually played at say an Ivy.I just don’t understand why being a coach is somehow better than being a player.
Jack Fitz's situation has been discussed a number of times, and the obvious answer is he's basically delaying using his eligibility until the dust settles on his Dad's situation. He seems to have a great attitude given the tough circumstances. I think it's a smart move.I just don’t understand why being a coach is somehow better than being a player. I get Lou’s read that it’s perhaps a chance to maximize eligibility somewhere else under his dad; it just seems so far off and unlikely that it would be more comforting to have the pads on.
Obviously, a minor footnote to this whole mess.
