After the weekday results this week, mathematically we can still finish as 9th. For the optimists, we are still not mathematically eliminated from the regular season title!

For the ultimate pessimist, if we somehow finished 9th (and a LOT would have to happen for that to happen), I believe we already know who we would be playing in the BTT, and that would be Illinois (yikes!). There is probably a .01% chance or less of this happening though

With one win in the last three games, we can finish no lower than 7th but no higher than 4th. If that one win is vs. Michigan, we can finish no lower than 6th.

With two wins in the last three games, amazingly we can STILL finish as low as 7th, though that scenario is far less likely than if we win only 1. However, our ceiling is higher, as we can finish as high as 2nd. Again, if one of those two wins is vs. Michigan, we can finish no lower than 6th.

With 3 wins we can STILL finish as low as 6th (we can somehow be on the bottom of a crazy 5-way tie for 2nd), but, as previously indicated, we could be BIG Regular Season champions! Among the many things that would have to happen for this latter scenario to occur is for Purdue to lose their two other games besides the one vs. us -- just this one portion the the scenario makes is a needle-in-a-haystack type of thing, imo.

Crazy stuff, and feel free to check out my math, since errors are certainly possible!

Sounds like New Years morning back in the good ol' days.

Not sure how you sorted all that out, Mike, but you are a true mathemagician. ;)

Thanks, Mike. This shows how truly bunched things are in college basketball this season and why all the experts are saying with one win, we're in the Dance.

I can't wait to see how things play out!

While it has been brutal waiting for our next victory, this 3-day break between Tuesday and tomorrow's game will prove to be exactly what we needed. This team clearly is feeling the pressure to break our decades of futility. Winning a game soon with break the dam. I am optimistic that the next win will come tomorrow and we will see how good this team can be. Pick to click Saturday: BMac.

Next year is not the year. This year is the year! Go Cats!!!

Every expert is saying one more win and we're in, which is encouraging. Now, we just have to get that win. One thing that may be helping us to separate from other mid-pack teams is a couple of non-cons you would never think of. Eastern Washington is now 19-10 and either first or second in the Big Sky and New Orleans! has had a big revival season and now 17-9 and 1st in the Big South.
