Here are some nuggets I dug up working the phones the last few days:

- The Jerrod Means offer does not necessarily mean that Genson Hooper-Price is out of the picture, but it does signal that the Wildcats aren't going to wait on him and certainly don't feel very confident about their chances. It will be first-come, first-serve, and they will take Means if he pops first.

- David Roddy did not take his official to Wyoming (for football) last weekend, as scheduled, due to logistical issues. He will take his OV to Laramie after football season. He says that he still hasn't made up his mind about which sport he will play at the next level. He aims to make his decision sometime after football season. Breck plays its first playoff game tomorrow.

- Nick Jackson's commitment to Virginia didn't surprise anyone at NU. Tim McGarigle recruited Jackson until the very end, but they saw the writing on the wall.

- Don't expect a lot of visitors at the NU-Wisconsin game tomorrow. The 11 am kickoff makes it difficult, plus it's playoff time for high schools now (IHSA playoffs start this weekend). As you'd expect, Notre Dame is going to be the marquee game for recruits next week.
