How many brutal losses have we had over the past decade due to an inability to handle a full court press? Probably a dozen. No reason to take Pardon out until we had 6 fouls, he was the key to breaking UT's pressure last night. The moment he went out of the game, I thought something bad would happen. Sure enough, it did, and then some. Would've been nice to use one of the two available timeouts there, but that's overstating the obvious. Bleh.

And they were so good against the press last night.

Totally on Collins there, when he saw Tap struggling to find an open man (there wasn't anyone even REMOTELY open), call the timeout, regroup and switch the play. God that was stupid.

Isn't that a rule change this year that the coach can't call a timeout from the bench? Of course he could have yelled it to his players I guess.

Maybe so, Tap should've known with two timeouts left he could call one. I assume that was conveyed to him...

No - Collins could have called a timeout - dead ball situation. Once the ball is in play, only a player can call time out.

Our bench was at the far end from the play, though, so our players should have been prepared to make the call.

I really don't know what the rule is in that situation, but after the game in the studio one of the guys said the new rule says either the player or the coach can call the timeout in that situation. Regardless both teams were dog tired and it really showed in the last five minutes. Two pressure games in 21 hours is tough.
