Pretty lopsided officiating gave GT 15 more shots than NU at the charity stripe. GT made 12 of those 15.

NU outscored GT by 11 when the clock was running.

There were some fairly egregious calls. There was shameful makeup call that BMac benefited from. The refs weren't ready for D1 play.

Their best guy spent most of the first half in the bench with two fouls, and NU shot something like 25% from the field and took no advantage. NU doesn't initiate contact and doesn't draw fouls.

The signature play for NU - a Mc floater - is one where he could draw fouls every time if he put his shoulder to the rim rather than avoiding contact.

Fouls are drawn by aggressive offensive play. NU doesn't feature that.

Perhaps there were touch fouls called against NU - but there were *no* plays where NU seemed to draw a foul that wasn't called.

You are absolutely correct. One guy on the team penetrates and he never passes...always puts up a difficult shot. With Sanjay gone, it seems no one back cuts to the rim late in the clock.

Game was lost on Lindsey/Falzon going 0-12 on mostly wide open 3 pt attempts.

The game should have never come down to a last possession. GT doesn't look like a very good team, and my guess is they didn't play very well either.

If we lose to Oklahoma as well. We are going to need some big time wins in the Big Ten and a 11-7 record minimum. I can't believe we are still #50 in KenPom.

1) Tech still doesn't have perhaps their best player, who is suspended due to receiving $'s from a booster.
2) OU is good. They have a Freshman guard who is playing lights out. Will be a tough match-up for NU in Norman.

Hard to make the tournament without any quality OOC wins. Any 1 of CU, TTU, GT or OU would be quality. DePaul, Valpo, LaSalle etc. are not.
